L'ORDRE DES PSYCHOLOGUES DU QUÉBEC

 

La principale mission de l’Ordre des psychologues du Québec est la protection du public.

 

Pour ce faire, l’Ordre :

 

s'assure de la qualité des services offerts par les membres;

favorise le développement de la profession;

défend l'accessibilité aux services psychologiques.

 

Le psychologue est un professionnel qui possède une formation de maîtrise ou de doctorat en psychologie. Cette formation est centrée sur la compréhension du comportement humain et sur l’apprentissage de multiples techniques visant à aider le client à résoudre ses difficultés psychologiques.

 

Le psychologue connaît les techniques d’entrevue, a suivi des stages supervisés en psychothérapie et peut recourir aux tests psychologiques pour évaluer les capacités intellectuelles, les aptitudes ou les différents aspects de la personnalité de son client.

 

En ce moment au Québec, le titre de psychologue est protégé, ce qui veut dire que tous les psychologues doivent être inscrits au tableau des membres de l’Ordre des psychologues du Québec.

 

 

 

CANADIAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION

 

The Canadian Psychological Association was organized in 1939 and incorporated under the Canada Corporations Act, Part II, in May 1950.

 

Its objectives are:

 

To improve the health and welfare of all Canadians;

To promote excellence and innovation in psychological research, education, and practice;

To promote the advancement, development, dissemination, and application of psychological knowledge; and

To provide high-quality services to members.

 

 

 

NATIONAL REGISTER OF HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS IN PSYCHOLOGY

 

The Register has been organized as a non-profit corporation for the purpose of identifying health service providers in psychology meeting educational and training standards set by the Register consistent with standards of practice acceptable to the profession and also for the purpose of promoting professional standards by encouraging continuing education and research.

 

To identify health service providers in psychology who meet certain educational and training standards set by Council.

To publish a register of health service psychologists to assist health service organizations, third party payers, the general public and such other persons or groups as may be appropriate.

 

From time to time to conduct research on issues related to the delivery of health services by psychologists.

 

To encourage and promote programs of continuing education in the areas of psychological health services.

 

To maintain close relationships with the Council of Provincial Associations of Psychologists, the Canadian Psychological Association, the provincial or territorial psychological associations and regulatory organizations, and appropriate international psychological organizations, and to support the goals and objects of such bodies and organizations.

To promote and protect the public's access to qualified health service providers in psychology.

 

 

 

LE SERVICE POPULAIRE DE PSYCHOTHERAPIE

 

Le Service populaire de psychothérapie (S.P.P.) est un organisme communautaire qui depuis quinze ans regroupe des professionnels offrant des services de psychothérapie de qualité aux personnes, aux couples et aux familles à faible revenu de Laval.
